Elliston Municipal Park

Notes about Elliston Municipal Park

Sites are in a grassy field, ringed by trees, with access via gravelled road. There is a large and beautiful sandy beach. The Annual Bird Island Puffin Festival takes place at the park in July. Festival facilites include a stage, booths and covered seating; these areas are surrounded by fences. Puffin viewing is a year round attraction of the place. In addition, root cellars are plentiful here (estimated at 135), earning it the name of Root Cellar Capital of the World. A September festival celebrates these in the culinary event known as the Roots, Rants & Roars Festival.
