Deschutes River State Rec Area

Notes about Deschutes River State Rec Area

This is an oasis-like campground in the midst of the dry hills, offering an abundance of large trees in a mixed forest and plenty of green grass. There is a pet-walking area and the trails can be used for equestrian activity as well. A volleyball net provides another recreational outlet. Views of the beautiful Deschutes River as it converges with the Columbia can be enjoyed here. These conditions make for excellent river rafting and the Heritage Landing Boat Launch is useful. Gray water disposal drains are available, as well as garbage bins.
