The Village of Andrew is recently famous for being the home of Alberta's current premier, Ed Stelmach. Prior to this, its most famous resident was the world's largest mallard duck, which has a wingspread of 23 feet and can be viewed at the Lions Club Park, junction of highways 45 and 855. Sports facilities are housed in the school complex and include Lions Club mini golf, tennis courts, a playground, ball diamonds, and bowling lanes. The K-12 Andrew School, although small, is proud of its educational standards, and has taken as its motto the pursuit of excellence. In addition to these facilities, Andrew has a sauna, hot tub and racquetball court in the Cultural Recreational Centre and Village Office. The villagers are also proud of the Canadian Pacific Railway caboose and their Andrew Historical Museum.
