Beaumont is a beautiful bilingual community in central Alberta, with easy access to and from Edmonton via the east and south edges of the big city. Its history began with the purchase of a 10-acre segment of land from the Hudson's Bay Company in 1894.

Since the 1970s, growth has been particularly strong because of the attraction of small town living in such close proximity to Edmonton. The service sector has grown in keeping with the increase in population. Staying in touch with its French roots, the French village town design theme has been in place since 1992 and is implemented in the downtown areas.
