Longview, Alberta

There is a campgrond right in Longview and a few more within about 20 km.

Ranching dominates southwestern Alberta and the Bar U Ranch National Historic Site at Longview commemorates this way of life with its barns, corrals, animal pens and sheds, its well-stocked old-time general store and cowboy style food at the restaurant. The proximity of Calgary as well as a number of small towns with their own complement of attractions, combined with a tourist-friendly outlook, all make Longview a desirable destination. Foothills and nearby mountains guarantee picturesque, open views of Cowboy Trail country and Kananaskis Country is near as well. For a taste of moderate hiking, check out the Pasque Mountain area which is a good blend of the rugged and the scenic. You can golf in many of the outlying communities besides Calgary, such as Cochrane, Turner Valley, Vulcan and Fort McLeod.
