Coal-mining put Coleman on the map and the town pays homage to its past at the Crowsnest Museum, which features displays of life and industry during its early years, as well as a photograph gallery. Still a charming small town of about 2,500, Coleman has an annual Country Market where local crafts and high-quality foods are available for purchase. Set amidst the mountains of the Crowsnest Pass area, Coleman is the last major centre before the continental divide near the Alberta-British Columbia border.
