This quiet picturesque town of about 200 on the west coast of Vancouver Island swells ten-fold during the summer when salmon-fishing enthusiasts head to the lodges, along with water sports fans of all stripes, Bradys Beach being a popular destination. The Pacific Rim National Park, in which Bamfield is situated, beckons with its prospects of sylvan retreat while nearby Hitchie National Park boasts an old-growth rainforest and abundant wildlife sighting opportunities. A public water taxi serves the twin halves of the town on the east and west sides of Bamfield Inlet. There are ten golf courses in this part of the island or if you prefer to walk without golf club in hand, you can try a hiking adventure at West Coast Trail or Keeha Bay Trail.
