Amusingly, the original spelling of the Halkomelem word for quieter water on the head is Chilliwhack which may not accurately reflect the beauties and comforts that await you. Outdoor adventurers will enjoy the camping, swimming, fishing, boating, biking and hiking at nearby parks. Mount Cheam and Minter Gardens are beauty spots you can explore, and the famous Bridal Falls, named for its lacy strands of white water, is not far. It is a golfer’s paradise with no less than nine golf courses within easy distance of the city. There is a lively cultural life with live theatre, dance and music events and a variety of sporting events for curling, hockey, softball and soccer fans. And if you run out of fun, Vancouver is only an hour’s drive away.
