Sechelt, British Columbia

Campgrounds and RV parks are available near to Sechelt but not in the town.

Sechelt is on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, and, as befits this location, has a vast number of hotels and other accommodations, many with ocean views. Canadian retirees head here commonly, as do artists, craftspeople and artisans, whose work is displayed in local shops and galleries. The name comes from the First Nation inhabitants, the first aboriginal band in BC to achieve self-government. The band's influence is felt in the Sechelt arts and culture scene. A major attraction is the beaches, with those of Davis Bay, south of the town, being highly ranked. Jacques Cousteau rated the scuba diving in this region the second-best on the planet.
