Milton-Freewater, Oregon

There is an obvious motif in this small city, one that is not completely compatible with the attractive and slightly sophisticated town it appears to be. Some lovely residential gardens are very evident as you cruise the wide streets. So are frog statues.

The Muddy Frog Festival, which is apparently derived from a former August festival called Corn Roast, takes place during the third week of August. It is clearly an important time in the life of Milton-Freewater and fun activities are organized, with all members of the family in mind. Milton-Freewater is sometimes referred to as Muddy-Frogwater because of all this frog emphasis.

A county campground is about 4.5 miles east of the town and there is a commercial RV park with serviced sites in town.
