Waldport, Oregon

The Alsea Bay bridge, a landmark in the city, is large and has stately pillars at the entrance. Waldport has attractions for tourists and townspeople alike, including nature walks, whale-watching and a golf course. This is a touristy place with views of the ocean and a constant reminder of the Pacific Ocean, whose waters flow into the bay, together with the fresh and crisp ocean winds.

The story of this important tourist attraction is conveyed via displays and video at the Visitor Center near the bridge. The new bridge replaced an earlier one which suffered significant corrosion to its steel structures. Specific measures were taken to prevent corrosion, particularly of the piers which are extra-thick. .

A range of outdoor activities can be enjoyed around the bay area, and fortunately, three RV parks are very close to town. These are open year round. Also, Beachside State Recreation Area is only four miles south and offers primitive and partially-serviced sites and there is good beach access via trails. .
